About Cary
Cary attended Bob Jones University, where, in 1991, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Bible. In 2007, he earned a Master of Ministry degree.
While a student at BJU, Cary met his wife, Paula. They have been blessed with two sons who are both married to the most wonderful daughters-in- law in the world. The Grants have 4 amazing grandsons and two adorable granddaughters.
The Grants have enjoyed a varied ministry. Beginning in 1991, the Grant family spent over 10 years in full-time evangelistic work. Cary has also served as an assistant pastor and youth pastor. He served on church staffs in Ohio and North Carolina. In November 2003, the Grants planted Refuge Baptist Church in Cumming, GA where Cary served as pastor until May of 2013. In September of 2013, the Grants moved to Glenford, OH where Cary served as pastor of Maranatha Bible Church.
Because of Cary’s voice issues, he preached his last verbal sermon on July 15, 2018, and then on July 29th, 2018, Cary and Paula concluded their ministry at Maranatha.
After moving to Elkhart, IN, Paula started a new job as a Branch Office Administrator with Edward Jones. By that time, Cary had completely lost the ability to speak. In July 2021, Paula was diagnosed with cancer. She battled through a year of chemotherapy treatment. On July 27, 2022, she received her final infusion. She is currently in remission.
In December 2024, Cary became a certified Biblical Counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.
